Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE (June 15, 2012)- The Milwaukee Wave is thrilled to announce that they have re-signed the Championship Series MVP, Marcio Leite. The Wave also re-signed forward, Ian Bennett who was a key player from last season's championship winning squad.
Leite earned the Championship Series MVP after scoring five goals in two games. After missing portions of the previous two seasons due to injuries, a healthy Leite came back and make a huge impact. He finished last season with 69 points and 22 goals in 15 games.
Also doing damage up front will be Ian Bennett. The 5-foot-9 forward will enter his sixth season in the league and fourth with the Wave. Bennett recorded the most points as a member of the Wave last year with 61 points and 22 goals.
"We are very excited about both Ian and Marcio returning to the Milwaukee Wave as both players had a very good season last year. Ian put up his most points in a Wave uniform and Marcio once again improved throughout the year culminating in him being named the MISL Championship Series MVP. We are glad that both players will be here for years to come," stated Wave's Coach, Keith Tozer.
