Wichita Wings News Release
WICHITA, KS. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) are pleased to announce the re-signing of Wings Defender/Midfielder Chris Lemons, as well as the addition of new signee, Forward Enrique Tovar, for the upcoming 2012-2013 season.
Chris Lemons, a stalwart of the Wings Defense in the 2011-2012 season, has come to agreements for a new two-year deal with the Wichita Wings. In his rookie indoor season, Lemons (a Wichita native) played in all 24 games for the Wings. Lemons led the Wings in team blocks (30) and finished 7th in team points (18). Although a rookie in the MISL last season, Lemons had spent time playing with the Charlotte Eagles of the USL, as well as time with the Colorado Rapids of the MLS over his 10 year career as a professional soccer player. The re-inclusion of Lemons into the Wings upcoming season will help to solidify a Defense that grew into one of the strongest in the MISL by the end of the 2011-2012 season; holding teams such as Milwaukee and Missouri to 6 and 9 points (respectively) in games over the second half of the season.
The Wichita Wings have also come to terms with Forward Enrique Tovar for the upcoming season. Tovar, who scored 20 points over 6 games while played with the Syracuse Silver Knights in the 2011-2012 season, will look to instantly add depth to the Wings roster. The 6'1", 205lb Forward adds an immediate threat to the pitch that he has displayed over an 11 year professional career. Tovar has spent time with the California Cougars (MISL/PASL Pro), leading the Cougars in both points and goals from 2005-2011, and is also an 8 time US Futsal National Champion. Tovar's full soccer career is listed below:
2000-2001: San Diego State University
2003: San Jose Earthquakes (MLS), Syracuse Salty Dogs (A-League), California Gold (USL Pro Select League)
2005-2008: California Cougars (MISL)
2006-2008: US Futsal National Team (Pan-American Games)
2008-2009: Rockford Rampage (NISL)

We look forward to including a dynamic player like Tovar into our schemes, while knowing that we have a resolute player like Lemons in the back."
Enquire Tovar is equally excited to join the Wings in the upcoming season. Speaking to the well-known fan base of Wichita, Tover stated: "Wichita, I hope you're ready for me. I am looking forward to playing in front of sellout crowds!"
