Last Outing:

The Milwaukee Wave opened the 2004-05 campaign with an 8-3 win over the first year Chicago Storm in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) regular season opener for both clubs before 3,819 fans at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL. Wave forwards Angel Rivillo and Kevin Burk led the offensive attack with two goals each. Goalkeeper Nick Vorberg earned the win with 13 saves on the night.

The Wave got on the board first and early when Todd Dusosky found his brother Troy off the restart at 1:58 of the first period. The Chicago Storm answered quickly with a goal from Byron Alvarez as he dribbled in and was able to send the ball past Vorberg at 3:36. However, it was the only offense that the Storm could muster in the opening period.

Wave rookie Nino Marcantonio then found Rivillo, who had slipped past goalkeeper Jeff Richey to regain the lead at 2-1. The Storm's Leo Pernia was sent to the box for a two minute boarding penalty and Greg Howes capitalized on the man advantage with a power-play goal at 9:25. Just over a minute later the Wave converted for its fourth goal of the night when Troy Dusosky found team co-captain Michael King for the 4-1 lead.

The Storm battled back in the second period, scoring the only goal of the quarter at 1:44 off a rocket shot by Ted Chronopoulos. The assist came from Jorge Valle to cut the Wave lead in half heading into intermission.

The Storm got on the board first in the second half off a quick offensive attack from Novi and Chris Carrieri. Carrieri streaked down the right side and sent the cross to Novi for the score at 3:25. The Wave quickly responded off a goal by defender Lovelace Ackah off the outlet pass from keeper Nick Vorberg.

The Wave extended its lead to 6-3 at 11:55 of the third period when rookie Jonathan Greenfield found Kevin Burk in front of the goal for the easy tap in.

The Wave started off the scoring in the fourth quarter when Angel Rivillo collected his second goal of the match at 1:22 of the final period. Defender Lovelace Ackah dribbled down the right side and found Rivillo in the middle for the score. Milwaukee converted its final goal at 7:56 when Matt Schmidt found Kevin Burk at the far post to take the 8-3 victory over the Storm.
