Sockers host Monterrey

(SAN DIEGO, Calif.) – International battle lines will be drawn this Friday, Oct. 29 when the San Diego Sockers host Monterrey, Mexico at the San Diego Sports Arena at 7 p.m. During the game, its all treat and no trick for fans who will have numerous opportunities to win prizes at the "Socktober Celebration." Fans who come dressed in a Halloween costume can win prizes and compete for the Sockers' "Best Seats in the House," sponsored by Cort Furniture. The Sockers are also offering a "TGIF" special with discounted tickets

San Diego plays in the second of a three-game home stand and takes on the MISL Monterrey team. San Diego's home record stands at 1-1 and the team is anxious to notch a win against their Western Division rivals before taking on the St. Louis Steamers on Nov. 5.

The halftime show celebrates the rich diversity and culture of Mexico and its presence here in San Diego. The Castle Park High School Mariachi Band will welcome fans as they arrive at the Sports Arena and will perform during the halftime break. Performing alongside the band, Castle Park's Grupo Folklorico will showcase traditional Mexican folk dances.

TGIF SPECIAL

Groups of five or more who purchase tickets to this Friday's game against Monterrey and the Friday game on Nov. 5 against the St. Louis Steamers will receive $3 off their tickets and the Arena Club in the Sports Arena will open at 6 p.m. for happy hour and will offer specials.

SOCKERS BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE

Cort Furniture and the Sockers have teamed up to provide the ultimate fan experience at all Sockers home games. This week, winners of the Sockers Halloween costume contest will win the chance to "Get in on the Action" in plush leather recliners and a couch provided by Cort Furniture. The seats, located in front of Section 8, offer the best view of all the wall-to-wall excitement of a Sockers game.
