Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE (Feb. 26, 2009) - Balancing parents' desires for a fun, safe summer environment for their children against the realities of the economy, the Milwaukee Wave offer new, deeper discounts in the 2009 edition of the Wave Summer Soccer Camps.
Head Coach Keith Tozer again hosts more than 50 sessions of Wisconsin's most popular summer soccer camp at sites throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Players ages 4-17 will find a camp fitting their skill level and interest. Parents will enjoy discounts of as much as $50 per session for additional campers. This applies to multiple campers from the same family or additional weeks for the same camper, and includes Overnight Academies.
As always, professional Wave players coach at every camp, instructing players on fundamentals of technique and tactics. Every camper receives a T-shirt, camp ball and certificate of participation in addition to their instruction. Full-day camps also offer lunch breaks with Cousins Subs or pizza for an additional cost.
"We are all very excited once again about the upcoming Wave camps, as last summer's were very rewarding for both the campers and our staff," said Keith Tozer, head coach and vice president of soccer operations for the Wave. "We are also very cognizant of the sacrifice that families have to make when choosing a camp option during these economic times. I am very proud that we were able to offer such a big discount this year for multiple family members and multiple camps."
Mini-kickers camps serve ages 4-6 and last a half-day. Full-day campers can be as old as 17. More advanced players might enjoy specialty camps that include Striker/Goalkeeper camps and the Overnight Academy at Concordia University in Mequon or Camp Whitcomb-Mason in Hartland. Teams can come together for more pointed tactical instruction at a Team Camp. And the summer concludes with All-Star Invitational camps in Mequon, New Berlin and Elm Grove.
New this year is a camp in Watertown, at Brandt Quirk Park. All of the most popular weekly sites return, including two sessions at Good Hope Elementary School and one at Harry & Rose Sampson J.C.C. in Glendale, two at Score Soccer Complex in Racine and two at Hawthorne Park in Wauwatosa. The Wave also partner once again with Kohl's Kicking Camps to offer football placekicking at Whitefish Bay High School.
