Wave names Timmy Gibbs as general manager

Jacksonville, FL. Zachary Hoxie, Co-Owner of the ABA Jacksonville Wave professional basketball team today announced that Timmy Gibbs as been named General Manager of the team starting play in November. According to Hoxie, "We are very excited about having a person with the tremendous background and experience that Timmy has. He is a proven winner; he understands business, basketball and the importance of strong community relations. We consider ourselves very fortunate."
Prior to playing 17 seasons of professional basketball in Europe and South America, Gibbs attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. The owner of Universal Sports, LLC, a sports agency, he has had several years of coaching and management experience including serving as General Manager/Head Coach of the ABA Tijuana Dragones last season. Gibbs added, "With the season only five weeks away, we have a lot to do. Fortunately, Coach Johnson has put together an initial group of very strong players and we are getting extraordinary support and cooperation from Camden County where we will be playing our home games. I am coming into a very interesting and challenging opportunity - the type of challenge I enjoy. We will make the people of this area proud of our team."
