Milwaukee Wave News Release
The 7-time Champion Milwaukee Wave suffered a heartbreaking loss in overtime Saturday night to the Florida Tropics.
Final Score: Milwaukee Wave 4, Florida Tropics 5.
"It's not what you want to happen on an opening night, after the dropping of the championship banner and getting your rings," said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "But this is what happens in professional sports. It's a tough one without a doubt. Florida was the better team tonight, they deserved what they got."
It was a close game all the way through with goals from:

"I thought our experience and mentality that knows how to win kept us in the game but it wasn't enough." added Oliviero. "For us, this loss is fuel for the fire. I think we can rebound from this and become better team."
Immediately after the game, the Milwaukee Wave met their fans for a post-game autograph session, showered, changed, ate some food and hopped on a bus for St. Louis.
"We're playing a team that hasn't played a game this weekend," said Olivierio. "We can come up with a million excuses but were not going to do that. We just have to get the job done tomorrow in St. Louis."
Milwaukee and St Louis tangle at 5:05pm CST from The Family Arena in Independence, Missouri.
