THE SKINNY:

Which Wave team is the real one? They've played one stinker, one decent game (9-8 loss at Rockford) and twice authored completely dominant performances. By going with a more veteran lineup against Philadelphia, the Wave used their defensive pressure to both stifle the KiXX attack and create scoring chances. Marco Terminesi tallied a league-high nine points in that game, and joins teammate Brett Wiesner near the top of the league scoring table. Nick Vorberg is expected to start in goal for Milwaukee. This would be Keith Tozer's 400th career regular season win with the Wave.

You never want to miss the first 15 minutes of a La Raza match. They have allowed 21 points in the first quarter over five games, including spots of 8, 6 and 5. Those three games, not surprisingly, represent their three losses. Keeper Jose Bontti stopped 21 of 23 shots last time these teams played, a 15-4 Monterrey victory in Milwaukee on Dec. 6. La Raza leads the league with five 3-point goals; three occurred in that Dec. 6 game.

WAVE MILESTONE WATCH:

Keith Tozer: 400 career regular season victories with Wave (399)

Brett Wiesner: 100 games played (93)

Giuliano Oliviero: 1,000 career points (978)

UPCOMING WAVE SCHEDULE:

Thursday, Dec. 31: vs. Baltimore Blast, 2 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 9: @ Baltimore Blast, 6:35 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 10: vs. La Raza de Monterrey, 2 p.m.
