ROCKFORD, Ill.- Rockford's Jamar Beasley scored a sixth-attacker goal with 52 seconds left as the Rampage defeated the Milwaukee Wave 9-8 on Friday night at the Metrocentre.

The Wave (1-1) led 8-4 with just under six minutes left, but Fabinho brought the Rampage (2-0) back with a key 3-pointer to make it 8-7.

Rockford called timeout with 2:42 left to bring on the sixth attacker, and it paid off when Beasley's effort from the left boards deflected off a Wave defender and snuck behind Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg.

The Wave brought out Josh Rife as the sixth attacker but were unable to create the winning opportunity.

Troy Dusosky scored a pair of restart goals, the second with 1:43 left in the third period to bring the Wave even at 4-all.

Travis MacKenzie put the Wave back on top, blistering the upper corner with a shorthanded goal early in the fourth. Kyt Selaidopoulos then appeared to put the Wave in control with 8:14 to go, knocking in a rebound.

Vorberg was credited with 21 saves. The Wave killed two of three power plays and failed to convert on their only one.

The Wave open their home season on Dec. 6 against La Raza de Monterrey. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. It's a Family 4-Pack Day, with four Premier level tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $59. Call 414-224-9283 for more information.
