MILWAUKEE, WI (March 5, 2007) - Chris Jahr scored the game-winning goal in Game 5 of the 1998 National Professional Soccer League championship series, clinching the Milwaukee Wave's first title.

Pat White collected four league championship rings and is third on the Wave's all-time games played list.

Chad Dombrowski, Joe Hammes and Brett Wiesner are all up-and-coming young stars for the Wave.

All of them were products of the Wave's amateur draft. The 2007 MISL Amateur Draft is Thursday at 1 p.m. CST via conference call. The Wave will draft sixth of eight teams, including incoming expansion teams Orlando and New Jersey. Draft order is based on the team's winning percentage from the beginning of the 2005-06 regular season to present.

"The amateur draft is a good way to find future players for the MISL," said Keith Tozer, Wave head coach and director of soccer operations. "Over the years, many players we've drafted have had successful careers in the MISL. Hopefully, we can find several more starters for the Wave in this upcoming draft."

The Wave's draft history includes a number of other notable MISL names:

- Matt Schmidt (2000), a product of Yale University who played on the 2005 Wave championship squad.

- Don D'Ambra (1993), who played two years in Milwaukee before becoming an original member of the Philadelphia KiXX. He is now their player-coach and one of the top scoring forwards in the MISL.

- Dominik Jakubek (2004), Branko Savic (2004) and Matt Caution (1997), who are among those playing this year for other MISL teams.

Thursday's draft begins with a territorial round that permits teams first choice of players in their geographical proximity. Players eligible for the territorial round were either residents of the state and played high school and/or youth soccer there or attended college for at least two years in the state. Four regular rounds follow that round.

Among the candidates for the Wave's territorial round are three players who contributed to the success experienced by UW-Milwaukee over the last four years. They are:

Billy Meier, defender: A product of Racine St. Catherine's High School, Meier was the Horizon League Defender of the Year in 2006. The captain was second-team All-Horizon League as a junior and also was second-team NSCAA Scholar All-Region.

Craig Mallace, midfielder/defender: Native of Scotland who attended high school in Minnesota. Twice was second-team All-Horizon League and is 10th on UWM's all-time list with 18 assists.

Eric Mickschl, goalkeeper: Nicolet High School product who was McDonald's High School All-American and state player of the year in 2001. Led Horizon League in 2004 with 0.85 goals-against average.
