Wave Drop Overtime Thriller against Monterrey Friday Night in Milwaukee.

For the 3rd time this season, Milwaukee took Monterrey the distance and went into overtime.

Hoping that the 3rd time was a charm, it would not be; as Monterrey escapes Panther Arena Friday night in game 1 of the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs.

Leading the way In scoring was Milwaukee's own Alex "Saucy" Sanchez, before leaving the game early with an injury. His 2 goals and 2 assists, led the spark for Milwaukee in their 3rd Quarter rally.

The overtime session, saw both teams exchange chances, but it was Pollo Ruiz who capitalized on a poor Milwaukee line change late in the overtime period to give Monterrey the game 1 victory and the advantage going back to Mexico.

Final Score / OT: Milwaukee Wave 7, Monterrey Flash 8.

"I can't fault our effort tonight, I thought we were fantastic! We're up 7-5 in the 4th quarter, referees called a penalty, it's a big playoff game, I 100% disagree with the call. It was a handball, probably a free kick outside the box. It kind of deflated us a little bit, and it doesn't help that guys kept dropping with injuries as the game went on. Proud of the effort, we're not out of it yet, we have a difficult task ahead of us going into Monterrey, who still hasn't lost yet, but we were close!"
