HOFFMAN ESTATES, Il - J.P. Rodrigues scored a pair of 3-point goals, including a clinching score against the sixth attacker, and Marcel Feenstra turned away 18 shots as the Milwaukee Wave topped the Chicago Storm 12-8 on Saturday.

The Wave (2-0) rallied from a 9-8 deficit in the fourth quarter, scoring the winner on an own goal before Rodrigues salted the game away with 20 seconds left.

"I couldn't be happier with the guys," said Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer. "It takes 15 guys to win a game, and even if you didn't have a point on the board, we need all 15 guys, and that's what did it today."

Rodrigues gave the Wave a third-quarter lead with a blistering volley from the right point with just 1:18 expired in the third. The ball ricocheted off the inside of the near post and past keeper Jeff Richey.

Goals by Lazo Alavanja on a restart and Chris Cerroni put the Storm back on top heading into the fourth, and it took hustle and some good fortune for the Wave to go back on top.

Troy Dusosky pressured Will Kletzien in his own end, and Kletzien's pass back to Richey found the keeper off balance. Richey was able to only graze the ball with his foot as it scooted in, putting Milwaukee on top 9-8 with 8:45 remaining. "Troy pressured the ball, and we got a lucky break, but that's indoor soccer," Tozer said.

Fortunate, too, was Tozer's decision to keep Feenstra as a backup goalie on his 15-man roster. When Nick Vorberg injured his calf in preseason, Feenstra was able to step in and now is 7-0 in two seasons. "I thought Marcel has been unbelievable," Tozer said. "He made some huge saves ... I'm just really happy we signed two keepers." Rookie Marco Terminesi scored his first professional goal in the first half, and Giuliano Oliviero added another as the Wave entered halftime even at 4.

The Wave return home for their annual New Year's Eve contest at 1 p.m. next Wednesday as Chicago visits. Fans can get the popular Family 4-Packs, with four Premier level tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs, for just $60. Family 4-Packs must be ordered in advance by calling 414-224-9283.
