
Wave and Wisconsin ODP Team Up for Soccer Development

(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave, parent organization of the Milwaukee Wave indoor (Major Indoor Soccer League) and Wave United outdoor (A-League) professional soccer teams and the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program (ODP) are teaming up to promote soccer development within the state of Wisconsin.
Among the initiatives being promoted by the Wave and Wisconsin ODP, the state organization which oversees the selection and development of talented youth players are:
1. Giving ODP players and coaches the opportunity to participate special training sessions and clinics with the Wave and Wave United.
2. Having ODP players and coaches participate in the Wave's annual European Academy held in conjunction with Queens Park Rangers FC, a first division professional club in London, England. This year's Wave European Academy is scheduled to take place July 23-August 1. The Wave European Academy is part of the Wave / Wave United Summer Camp Program, one of the largest and most comprehensive in North America.
"We're very excited about our new relationship with the Wisconsin ODP," said Wave Coach / Milwaukee Vice President â Soccer Operations Keith Tozer. "Being able to offer the ODP players the opportunity to participate in our European Academy and other programs is a win-win situation for everyone."

In addition to the Wave United opener, the U.S. National Futsal Team will take on Honduras in a two-game, total goal CONCACAF Qualifier at U.S. Cellular Arena, Tuesday, May 18, 7 PM and Thursday, May 20, 7 PM. The U.S. squad, coached by Tozer, will be vying for a spot in the CONCACAF Finals to be played in Costa Rica the last two weeks in July. The top two teams from the latter competition will qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Championships, Nov. 22 â Dec. 12 in Chinese Taipei.
