Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave / Wave United Summer Camp program, one of the largest and most successful in all of North American professional soccer is getting ready to kick-off its 2004 camp season. First week sessions (June 14-18) include camps in Whitefish Bay (Jewish Community Center), Greendale (Highland View School), Wauwatosa (Hawthorne Park), New Berlin (Valley View Park), and New Holstein (Kiwanis Park).

Each camp features a Mini-Kickers Camp for 4-6 year olds ($125) from 9 AM - Noon, a Half-Day Camp for 7-15 year olds ($125) from 9 AM - Noon, and a Full Day Camp for 7-15 year olds ($160) from 9 AM – 3 PM. Each camp is designed to accommodate players of all levels: beginners, intermediate, and / or advanced.

Wave / Wave United Summer Camps provide a unique opportunity for young soccer players – instruction from top-notch college and professional players. "Young players don't often get a chance for this type of professional instruction," said Wave Coach / Milwaukee Vice President of Soccer Operations Keith Tozer. "What makes our camps unique is that the campers will actually get to know the instructors on a personal level by the end of the week. That's something that rarely happens in other sports."

In addition to individual instruction, each camper will receive a top-quality Spalding soccer ball, as well as a Wave / Wave United Camp T-Shirt. Campers also have the option of purchasing water bottles, Wave caps, visors, and replica jerseys. Lunch with the Wave / Wave United Camp Staff is also available each day at a nominal cost. Each camper will also receive; a free 2004 Wave United Season Ticket for regular season games at Uihlein Soccer Park, a free ticket to the Wave's 2004-05 MISL Home Opener at U.S. Cellular Arena, a Wisconsin Dells Kids Card, a surprise gift from Kohl's, and a ticket to the Wave / Wave United Summer Camper Brewer Game August 21 at Miller Park.

With 58 sessions in 33 different locations, the Wave / Wave United program makes it convenient for families to send their young players to a Wave Soccer Camp virtually anywhere in Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Aside from the camps listed above, the 2004 program includes overnight academies (9-17 year olds), striker / goalkeeper camps (7-17 year olds), as well team camps for teams consisting of 12 or more players of any age of skill level. This year's program also includes the second annual European Academy, which will be held in conjunction with Queens Park Rangers in London, England July 23 – August 1.

"We're very excited about this year's summer camp program," said Tozer. "We've worked extremely hard to maintain the quality of our camps despite the tremendous growth we've experienced in the last few years."

Tozer will once again serve as primary director of the Wave / Wave United Camps. Site directors include Wave team captain and all-time leading scorer Michael King, all-star forward Todd Dusosky, goalkeeper Dan Green, defender Pat White, midfielder Marcelo Fontana
