Toronto Rock News Release
Toronto, ON - The Toronto Rock announced today that goaltender Bob Watson has been named the National Lacrosse League's Co-Player of the Month for March. This will mark the second time in Watson's career that he has received this honour. With the award, he becomes the first goaltender to win Overall Player of the Month Honours twice.
"Bob Watson is one of the main reasons that the Rock have rebounded back into the position that we're in this season. The right decision was made here because he's definitely been the team's MVP to date." Terry Sanderson, Toronto Rock Head Coach and GM.
In March, Watson helped lead the Rock to a 3-1 record. He recorded 141 saves on 177 shots on goal, in 220:00 minutes of play. Watson also collected 7 looseballs in 4 games played. A highlight to the month was Watson's outstanding performance at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, where he held the Storm scoreless for over 31 minutes of play.
