Tavares, Watson split monthly award

Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares and Toronto Rock goaltender Bob Watson are co-winners of the Player of the Month Award for March. The monthly award is the second for Tavares this season as he was also named the Overall Player of the Month in January. The award is the first for Watson this season. San Jose Stealth rookie forward Ryan Boyle earned his second Rookie of the Month honors for the season in March as he was also name the January Rookie of the Month. The awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers of the league's ten member clubs.

John Tavares earned his second Player of the Month Award for the 2005 season, and the eighth of his career in March for leading the Bandits to a 3-2 record on the month. In five games played in March, Tavares scored 14 goals and added 18 assists for 32 points and collected 37 loose balls. The veteran forward also reached the 500 career goals scored milestone in a 23-16 win over the Minnesota Swarm on March 11th.

Bob Watson earned his second career Player of the Month honors for leading the Rock to a 3-1 record in March. In four games played, Watson recorded 141 saves, allowed 36 goals, and collected seven loose balls. With the award Watson becomes the first ever goaltender to win Overall Player of the Month honors twice.

Ryan Boyle of the San Jose Stealth earned March Rookie of the Month honors. The rookie forward scored five goals and added 15 assists for 20 points and collected 31 loose balls in six games played in March. Having also earned the award in January, Boyle becomes only the fourth rookie in league history to earn two Rookie of the Month Awards. Boyle joins John Grant Jr. (2000), Tracey Kelusky (2001), and Craig Conn (2004) as the only players to do so.
