Watson Clinic is ThunderBolts premier medical provider

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Watson Clinic, a premier medical provider, has agreed to be part of the Lakeland ThunderBolts, one of the newest members of the National Indoor Football League. The Clinic will make available the first-year team's doctors and athletic trainers.

The lead team physician is Dr. Phuc Vo (pronounced Phu Voe) and the head athletic trainer will be Adam Craft, ATC/L, it was announced by Del Martin, the ThunderBolts owner-general manager. Both are leaders in their fields at the Watson Clinic, Dr. Vo is an orthopedic surgeon and Craft is the clinic's sports medicine coordinator.

"This is a fantastic addition to the team's medical services; we are proud to have the partnership with the Watson Clinic and their entire medical staff," said Martin. "They will provide the finest in medical care for our athletes."

Dr. Vo was graduated from the University of Florida's College of Medicine and served his internship in the school's department of orthopedics. He served a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Sports Medicine Center in Philadelphia in 1994.

He currently is chief of the division of orthopedics at the Watson Clinic and has served as a consultant to the Detroit Tigers baseball team.

Craft was graduated from the University of Florida's college of health and human performance in 1996. He holds a BA in exercise and sports sciences and certified by the NATA and has a Florida state license for sports trainers.

He has served as athletic trainer for the Orlando Nighthawks/Ladyhawks, the Orlando Jackals, Winning Ways Academy, the Seminole Community College and Valencia Community College, and many other community sporting events.

Since 1999, Craft has been with the Watson Clinic and was with the Lake Health Care Center and the HealthSouth Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center prior to the Watson.

Dr. Vo was named the ‘Top Orthopedic Surgeon" by Money Magazine in October of 2003, named to Conolly's Best Physicians in Florida in 2000 and was honored with the University of Florida Heroic Individual Award in 1986.

A member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Vo also holds memberships in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopic Association of North America and the International College of Surgeons.

The ThunderBolts begin play on Saturday, March 19, when they host the Daytona Beach Hawgs in their inaugural game at the Lakeland Center.
