
Watson and Evans named to All-League Second Team

Charleston, SC - Charleston Battery defender Mark Watson and midfielder Justin Evans have been named to the 2004 A-League All-League Second Team. This is the second occasion that Watson has been honored by the league, he was named to the All-League First Team in 2002 the same year he was named A-League Defender of the Year. The A-League All-League Teams are voted on by the league's coaches and general managers.
A native of Vancouver, Canada, Watson had a solid third season with the Battery playing and starting 20 games to bring his three-year total to 74 games played with three goals and four assists. Watson resumed his international career in 2004 and has featured in all Canada's 2006 World Cup Qualifiers to date.
Justin Evans returned for a second stint with the Battery in 2004 after spending the 2003 campaign with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. In his first season with Charleston (2002) Evans led the Battery in minutes played (2,618) scoring four goals and adding two assists. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Evans played 30 games for the Battery this year, recording three assists.
