Gerba Earns All-League Honours

(TORONTO, ON) - Star Canadian striker, Ali Gerba, capped his record breaking season with a selection to the A-League All-League Second Team. Gerba set new franchise records this season with 15 goals and 34 points, ranking him forth in the A-League. He is the first player in franchise history to finish in the top 10 in League scoring and was also named to the A-League Team of the Week three times and voted the Most Valuable Player for the Lynx 2004 season. The All-League selection was the first for the Lynx since Theo Zagar and Adrian Serioux earned Second Team honours in 2000.

A-LEAGUE CONFERENCE FINALS SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

With A-League finals births at stake this weekend, two Canadian clubs remain in the race for the championship. In the Eastern Conference Final, the Montreal Impact will take on the Syracuse Salty Dogs, while in the west, the Vancouver Whitecaps will battle the Seattle Sounders. No Canadian Club has competed for the championship in the history of the A-League, although the Montreal Impact did capture the American Professional Soccer League championship in 1994.
