Tonight was the 'Pink the Park' Breast Cancer Awareness game sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). The Blue Sox showed their support by wearing pink jerseys, which were auctioned off after the game.

The Blue Sox gave the 1,012 fans, who were in attendance tonight, a good show scoring eight runs and recording 12 hits. All of the Blue Sox's batters got at least one base hit tonight, but Watertown also had a good hitting performance. They scored 10 runs and beat the Blue Sox 10-8 to secure second place in the PGCBL Central Division.

Watertown improves to 18-16, while the Blue Sox drop to 17-17.

Utica took a 2-0 lead in the bottom second. Blue Sox's second baseman Coco Hussien led the inning off with a single and later scored the Blue Sox's first run of the game off of Neiko Ramos' double. DJ Staszak then singled to bring Ramos home.

Watertown erased their two run deficit and took the lead in the top fifth. William Heurtin, Michael Russell, and Kenny Bergmann all walked to load the bases. Then Watertown first baseman Alex Mumme hit the ball all the way out of the park for the four run home-run. The Rapids took a 4-2 and they added one more run in the same inning when Ben Maycock singled, stole second and third, and scored off of Samuel Neal's single (Wat. 5-2).

The Rapids put up more runs in the top sixth. Heurtin and Russell both singled, and Rapids' leftfielder Joshua Bozoian later walked to load the bases. Maycock also walked to bring Heurtin home and give Watertown a 6-2 lead. Rapids' right fielder Bailey Lewis later doubled to bring Russell, Bozoian, and Maycock home and give the Rapids a commanding 9-2 lead.

But Utica showed some life in the bottom seventh. Khalyd Cox reached second off of the ground-rule double, and then centerfielder Cameron Phelts recorded the two-run homer to decrease Watertown's lead by five (9-4). Blue Sox's third baseman Luis DeLeon doubled and scored off of Isaiah Torres' double (Wat. 9-5). Hussien later walked and Ramos advanced to first off of an error from Heurtin. The error brought Torres home and decreased the Rapids' lead by three (9-6). Utica continued to eat away at Watertown's lead. Blue Sox's catcher Kyle Strovink singled to bring Hussien home (Wat. 9-7), and Ramos scored off of a wild pitch.

Utica now only trailed by one run heading out of the seventh, but Watertown put up one more run in the top eighth. Mumme doubled and scored off of Julian Kurych's sacrifice flyout.

Watertown led it 10-8 and held onto their lead in the bottom eighth and ninth to beat the Blue Sox.

Utica's starting pitcher Mike Bovenzi got the loss striking out three, walking six, giving up four hits, and allowing five runs.

Watertown's starting pitcher Jack Buckley got the win striking out two, giving up six hits, and allowing two runs to score in five innings of work. The Rapids' relief pitcher Nick Bosma got the save only giving up one hit in the bottom ninth.
