
Stone Like a Rock in Stallions's Win

Saugerties, NY- The Saugerties Stallions hosted the Oneonta Outlaws on Friday, July 13 in a pitching match-up between starters Seth Burnham (Herkimer CC) and Noah Stone (Arkansas State). The Stallions rode a tremendous start by Stone who threw seven innings, allowing two hits and one earned run.
The Outlaws struck first as second-baseman Logan Thomason (Eastern Kentucky) hit an RBI-triple, scoring leadoff batter Derek Orndorff (Penn State) who walked to start the inning.
The Stallions would quickly comeback in the second inning after Herman Alvarado (Nyack) hit an RBI-double to score catcher Carlos Pino (Nyack), who reached on an infield single.
Saugerties continued to score in the third inning after Dillon Lifrieri (Arkansas) hit an RBI-single to score Jordan Kozicky (Minnesota), to take a 2-1 lead.
But the Stallions didn't stop there. In the sixth inning, Noah Searcy (Georgia Southern) reached on a throwing error by Outlwas third-baseman Steve Minter (Georgia). Dillon Good (Lock Haven) walked to put runners on first and second. Later, Pino would come up to bat and open the game open by hitting a three-run homerun to increase the Stallions lead to 5-1.
Saugerties added another run in the seventh after Searcy hit into a double-play to score Tyler Kelder (St. Bonaventure), making the lead 6-1.
Finally, the Stallions would add one more run in the eighth after Kozicky reached on an infield single and throwing error by Oneonta second-baseman Thomason to score Darius Foster (Oregon State), to eventually win by a score of 7-1.
Noah Stone earned the win for the Stallions and Seth Burnham took the loss for the Outlaws.
The Outlaws play again tomorrow, July 14 at home against the Elmira Pioneers and the Stallions play tomorrow as well at the Glens Falls Dragons.
