Saugerties Stallions News Release
SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - In the final day of the regular season for the East division, the Albany Dutchmen ended their season with a 10-5 win against the Saugerties Stallions on Friday.
The Dutchmen scored a run in the very first inning with a single from Anthony Raimo Jr. to take an early lead.
Following that first inning, the next three would be all Stallions with RBI hits from Max Cotier, Niko Amory and Brandon Fish with two of those being doubles.
The Stallions wouldn't score another run until the sixth inning as Colin Mackle scored on a wild pitch to take a three-run lead heading into the seventh inning.
Alex Canney pitched a gem for the Stallions, only allowing the one run in six innings of work with five strikeouts in the process.
Once Canney left the job was left to the bullpen to finish the game.
They didn't.
Jack Walker started the inning and allowed his first three batters to reach base before he was taken out for Drake Quinn.
From there, seven Dutchmen would cross home plate with Walker being credited for three earned runs and Quinn would have two earned runs against him while also being on the mound for two unearned runs after a Cotier error.
With the Dutchmen already holding on to an 8-4 lead, they would tack on two more runs against TJ Lopez on two singles in the top of the eighth inning.
The Stallions scored one more run in the bottom half of the inning on a wild pitch and that would be all for both sides with the Dutchmen holding onto a 10-5 win.
After Mohawk Valley's victory earlier in the day, the loss doesn't change anything for the Stallions as they finish the regular season third in the East division and will travel to take on the DiamondDawgs in the first round of the PGCBL playoffs/
