Washington Stealth Forward Zywicki Activated from IR
March 5, 2011 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Washington Stealth News Release
Everett, Wash. - The Washington Stealth announced this afternoon that forward Jeff Zywicki has been removed from the injured reserve list and activated to the 23-man roster. Zywicki will be available for tonight's game against the Edmonton Rush, but it has not been confirmed if he will play.
Zywicki was placed on the injured reserve following a lower body injury sustained in the season opener against the Colorado Mammoth on January 8. He recorded three goals and two assists in that game.
Zywicki, a right-handed forward, is among the National Lacrosse League's most prolific scorers. He has recorded at least 30 goals and 70 points in each of the last four seasons. In the Stealth's Championship run a season ago, Zywicki was third on the Stealth scoring charts with 71 points (30g, 41a) in 13 regular season games. He tallied nine goals and four assists in three postseason games.
In order to make room on the active roster, the Stealth has released second-year forward Kory Kowalyk. Kowalyk appeared in three games this season, recording three assists and six loose balls.
The Stealth faces the Edmonton Rush tonight at 6pm PST at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. The game can be seen live on the NLL Network at NLL.com.
