
Washington Spirit Select Mariana Speckmaier 39th Overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft

Leesburg, Va. - The Washington Spirit have selected Mariana Speckmaier with the 39th overall pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft.
Speckmaier, a senior forward for the Clemson Tigers, played in nine games for the Tigers in 2020, making seven starts. In her 540 minutes of game time in 2020, Speckmaier scored two times and earned one assist. Over her four year career with Clemson, Speckmaier scored 25 goals and created 29 assists.
Because of a waiver obtained by the NWSL from the NCAA, players picked in the 2021 NWSL Draft will have until Friday, January 22, 2021 to decide whether to report immediately to their NWSL club or at the conclusion of the spring collegiate season.
