Washington Spirit Midfielder Croix Bethune Named March/April Rookie of the Month, Presented by Ally
May 7, 2024 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) News Release
NEW YORK - The National Women's Soccer League announced today that Washington Spirit midfielder Croix Bethune has been named Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally, for the months of March and April by the NWSL Media Association and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent.
The No. 3 overall selection in the 2024 NWSL Draft, presented by Ally, Bethune scored her first professional goal, the game-winning tally, in the Spirit's second game of the season.
Following her breakout start that ignited a five-game unbeaten streak for the Spirit, the former USC Trojan and Georgia Bulldog added two more goals and a pair of assists to her scoring ledger.
Appearing in 532 minutes of action, Bethune's three goals lead all rookies so far in the 2024 campaign. In Week 5, the Alpharetta, Georgia native became the third player in Spirit history to score three goals in her first five appearances with the team.
Ally, a financial services company with the nation's largest all-digital bank and a leading brand in women's sports, is also a primary sponsor of the NWSL and the official retail banking partner of the NWSLPA.
The NWSL Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally, is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis, and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent.
