
Washington Mystics To Hold Open Tryouts

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Mystics will hold open team tryouts for the Mystics training camp roster on Wednesday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. General Manager Linda Hargrove and the entire Mystics coaching staff will be on hand to evaluate those players trying to make the Mystics training camp roster. Training camp is set to begin on Sunday, April 20th at Trinity University.
Those attending the tryouts will be by invitation only. Last year, over 50 players attended the team's tryout session. Players in attendance are free agents and former college players not drafted into the league. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. Players interested in trying out, need to contact assistant coach Crystal Robinson at crobinson@washmystics.com.
The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2008 season on Saturday, May 17th, on the road against the Indiana Fever. Washington will host the club's home opener on Sunday, May 25th, against the four-time WNBA Champion, Houston Comets at 4:00 p.m. Individual tickets are currently on sale for a limited time on www.ticketmaster.com. Season tickets for the 2008 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Mystics Sales Office at 1-877-DC-HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
