Oklahoma Warriors News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Warriors took two points out of a weekend series with the Corpus Christi IceRays at Blazers Ice Centre.
The Warriors set a new season-high with seven goals scored in a 7-1 victory on Friday. On Saturday, Corpus Christi scored in the final minute of regulation for a 3-2 win.
Cooper Boulanger and Max Dronen each scored twice on Friday. Kaden Nelson, William Ahlrik, and Owen Carlile also picked up goals. The seven Warriors goals all came in the second and third periods.
Saturday's game, the first back-and-forth game between the two teams this season, featured one-goal leads by both teams but no multi-goal leads throughout. Riley Brueck and Dominic Elliott scored for the Warriors. Despite 42 shots on net, Oklahoma fell a goal short in a heartbreaking last-minute defeat.
Daniel Duris allowed four goals on 47 shots in the two games. Duris' goals against average (2.13) and save percentage (.927) remain among the NAHL leaders. He has also played the fifth-most minutes of any goaltender.
The team wore one-of-a-kind special jerseys and held auctions with proceeds going to the Toby Keith Foundation and OK Kids Korral, a home away from home for children fighting pediatric cancer all over the world. The Warriors welcomed multiple families who have been helped through the foundation to meet the team.
The Oklahoma Warriors are home against the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. Fans can purchase tickets at www.oklahomawarriors.com/tickets and watch the team live on www.nahltv.com.
