Vancouver Warriors News Release
VANCOUVER BC - The Vancouver Warriors have signed Jon Phillips, Patrick O'Meara and Sam Clare on the opening day of NLL Free Agency, pending NLL approval.
Phillips, 24, a forward from Delta BC, was a 6th round draft pick with the Warriors in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft. This past season, in the Western Lacrosse Association, Phillips set career highs with 29 goals and 42 assists for 69 points, good for 4th in league scoring.
"Jon Phillips had a breakout season in the WLA," comments Warriors General Manager Dan Richardson. "Jon also has a great outside shot. We look forward to seeing him develop this season."
O'Meara, 29, from Coquitlam BC, is a 6-3, 215-pound defender who plays his summer lacrosse with Maple Ridge of the WLA. "Patrick has great size and defensive ability and should add to our defensive depth this season," says Richardson.
Clare, 25, also from Delta BC, is a 6-1, 205-pound defensive/transition player. Clare plays his summer lacrosse with the Burnaby Lakers of the WLA. "Sam has a big upside, good speed and great lacrosse IQ," Richardson comments. "He runs the floor well and takes advantage of opportunities presented to him. We look forward to seeing Sam this season in Warriors colors."
The Warriors also announce the contract renewals of defender Dallas Wade and goaltender Andrew Gallant.
