Warren breaks Grizzlies single season record
July 19, 2004 - Frontier League (FL)
Gateway Grizzlies News Release
The Gateway Grizzlies' Phil Warren made history Saturday night as he slugged his 14th home run of the season versus the River City Rascals. The home run put Warren on top of the Grizzlies single season home run record previously owned by Todd Oetting and Warren last year.
Warren added another homer during Sunday night's contest versus River City to add his running total to 15 as the Grizzlies beat the Rascals 7-4.
Coincidently, T.R. Hughes Ballpark is where Warren won the 2004 All-Star Game Home Run Derby where he belted a total of five homers.
The single season Frontier League home run record is 36 and was set by Morgan Burkhart of the Richmond Roosters in 1998.
Grizzlies tickets are currently on sale and are available by calling the Grizzlies at 618-337-3000 or visiting the GMC Stadium box office. Fans can also purchase tickets online at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com.
