
Otters unable to hold lead against Richmond

Richmond, INâ Eric Archer singled in the winnings run in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Richmond Roosters to a come from behind 9-8 win over the Evansville Otters.
The Otters scored eight runs in the first three-plus innings, chasing Roosters' starter Richard Barkley to his worst outing of the season. Evansville's attack was built on a pair of two-run homers by Frank Scott and Andrew Davie.
The Roosters started the comeback in the fifth inning with a single run in the fifth. Richmond scored three in the sixth, the opening blast being the first of two homers of the night off the bat of Kevin White.
Trailing 8-7 heading into the bottom of the ninth, Blake Woods homered for the Roosters, making it 8-8. White then singled, followed by a walk to Kevin Brown putting the winning run in scoring position. Following a strikeout by Drew Miller, Archer singled to left, scoring White, giving the Roosters the win.
Scott Barber pitches tomorrow for Evansville against Tony Casoli for Richmond.
