Columbus Wardogs News Release

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Wardogs will begin the 2003 arena football season with two exciting promotional nights. The Wardogs hope to pack the Columbus Civic Center for the team’s only two games in April.

On Saturday, April 5th, the team will distribute 2,500 magnetic schedules and 2,000 pom-poms to the fans. Special Opening Night ceremonies will include the introduction of the 2003 Wardogs players and Wardolls Dance Team. The game against the Memphis Xplorers will mark the debut of new Wardogs head coach John Fourcade. The former NFL quarterback led Florida to the league’s championship game last season.

Saturday, April 12th will mark “NASCAR Night” at the Columbus Civic Center. In addition to enjoying the Wardogs game against the Rochester Brigade, fans can get an up-close and personal look at the #8 Dale Earnhardt Junior Budweiser show car. Fans can also get the “feel” of driving a race car in the “Nestle NASCAR Experience” which will allow three fans at a time to race against each other in a simulator on NASCAR’s most famous tracks, including Talladega or Daytona. Fans will also have the opportunity to win great NASCAR prizes throughout the night. Fans who come to the game wearing any kind of NASCAR memorabilia (tee-shirt, cap, etc.) will receive a $1.00 discount on every ticket.

Tickets may be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, including the Columbus Civic Center box office. Fans may also purchase tickets over the phone by calling Ticketmaster at (706) 494-8330, or through the internet by logging on to www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices begin as low as $8.
