(ALBANY, NY) - The defending Northeast Division Champions, Albany ConQuest, are getting prepared to begin training camp in less than two weeks. The arenafootball2 league allows players to report no earlier than March 18th and with most of Head Coach Pete Costanza's roster filled, the team has been busy trying to find a place to practice for the three weeks of camp.

All of those worries about practicing in the inches of ice and snow still on the Capital Region ground were put to rest Monday morning when General Manager, Rob Thompson, finalized an agreement with the Albany Academy for Boys to be the host of the 2003 Albany ConQuest training camp. The school, located at 135 Academy Road in Albany, is one of the premiere academic institutions in the country.

"Their facility is top-notch", Thompson commented, "It is going to make it very easy on our players, knowing they will be inside every day of camp. The dimensions inside the hockey rink are equal to our playing field and the fact that the rookies can learn from the start how to play inside the boards will help us evaluate talent much more effectively".

Founded in 1813, the Albany Academy is an independent day school for boys attending Pre-K through Grade 12. The school will benefit having their local pro football team at temporary tenants as well. While many local area high school baseball and lacrosse teams are waiting for the weather to allow them a field to practice on, the players at Albany Academy will now have the benefit of using an indoor turf field until they can get outside.

"Albany Academy has a rich tradition of athletics and community involvement with the city of Albany" stated Dave Rider, Athletic Director at the school, "We are excited and looking forward to our association with the Conquest".

The Conquest will begin practicing at Albany Academy on March 19th with their 35-man pre-season roster. A pre-season scrimmage is tentatively scheduled for March 28th with the Mohegan Wolves at their practice facility in North Branford, CT.

Don't forget, all 2003 season ticket holders are automatically entered in a drawing to win a one-year lease on a brand new vehicle, along with a cruise, suite tickets to the Pepsi Arena, tickets to NFL games, and much more. Also, every season ticket holder receives complimentary tickets to the All-Star Circus in May, along with the ConQuest's first playoff game. Order your tickets today by calling 487-2222, or visit www.albanyconquest.com.
