Albany Firebirds News Release

(ALBANY, NY) - The defending Northeast Division Champions, Albany ConQuest, will be participating in the Big Brother Big Sisters Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon this weekend. The event, named "Bowl For Kids' Sake", will take place on Saturday, March 8th at the Latham Bowlers Club, located on Route 7 (Troy-Schenectady Road) in Latham, NY. The bowling begins at 2:00pm and will last for about two hours.

ConQuest players will team up to try and best the Capital Region's most popular radio and television personalities, all for a good cause. There are still hundreds of children waiting for a Big Brother or a Big Sister and the work of just one of the "Bowl for Kids' Sake" teams can match a child for an entire year.

The ConQuest have been a proud supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region since their inception. Three members of the ConQuest, OL/DL Mike Levy, WR/LB Adriel Linyear and DS Jeremy Beamon, are all active members of Big Brother Big Sisters and will all be participating in the Bowl-A-Thon Saturday afternoon.

The "Bowl for Kids' Sake" is the major source of funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. 100% of the money raised benefits children in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties.

The ConQuest kick off their second season of areafoootball2 on April 5th in Richmond, VA. The team's first home game comes on Friday, April 11th, when they return to the Pepsi Arena to face the same Richmond Speed. Kickoff for all home games is 7:30pm and will be preceeded by the "Tailgate on Pearl Street" in 2003. Order your season tickets today by calling 487-2222 or visit www.albanyconquest.com.
