Warbirds ready to make 2006 big year
September 2, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Dayton Bulldogs News Release
BEAVERCREEK - Plans are now underway to make the 2006 season for the Dayton Warbirds the premier sports entertainment venue in the Miami Valley.
"We are so very excited about the 2006 season, are second season in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL)," said Warbirds' General Manager Jorge Ruiz. "What we have in store for the fans is so fantastic, that they will drive home saying âWow we had a great evening, and oh by the way we went to a football game.'"
Season tickets will go on sale at the Ervin J. Nutter Center box office Thurs., Sept. 8, with several exciting ticket plans being offered for Warbirds' fans. Those ticket plans include the VIP package at $175 per seat for the seven game home schedule, $84 for mid-Arena seats and the "Danger Zone" seats located behind the end zone, and $70 for the upper-Arena seating.
There is also a Corporate Field Box seating plan, which includes 10 seats located right next the field, and is according to Ruiz "The best seat in the house."
Corporate Field Box seats were designed for corporate sponsors to entertain clients, but they can also be purchased by anyone wishing to get a seat as close to the action as possible.
In their inaugural campaign in 2005 the Warbirds' thrilled Nutter Center fans and brought home an eight win, seven-loss season which included a trip to the NIFL playoffs.
"As our marketing slogan says, âFootball so close you're in it,' we really did make our fans feel like they were an integral part of the action," Ruiz said. "And we have many exciting programs in place already and those soon to be in place that will make our fans feel like they are even more into the action in 2006."
Some of those programs will include tie-ins with team sponsors, with specific details forthcoming as sponsorship deals are finalized.
One great plan already in place includes the Warbirds' involvement in the NIFL's very successful Sports for Education program, in which NIFL teams raised $18 million for school and education programs in the United States during the 2005 season.
Team sponsors receive a prime advertising tool to get their message out to the Miami Valley area and in turn defray production costs for the production of Sports for Education program materials.
Amongst those materials is a very successful and very popular Dasherboard Bingo cards. On one side of the card is the team schedule for the season, and the other side looks very similar to a bingo game card, except instead of numbers the team sponsor logos are in the squares.
Those advertising spaces may include a premium promotional deal with a team sponsor, which acts as a "sales coupon" for the fans. Fans would in turn bring their Dasherboard Bingo cards with them to the game, and when a player gets "tackled" into the side dasher boards where a particular team sponsor has an advertisement fans can "daub" that space just like they would in a bingo game. Completing a row diagonally, vertically or horizontally means that fan is eligible to win great prizes.
Dasherboard Bingo cards are supplied to schools and other non-profit groups willing to participate in this nationally recognized program, and those groups can then sell the cards for $1, with the non-profit group receiving all proceeds form the cards they sell.
"We anticipate that with Dasherboard Bingo we will be able to donate between $200,000 and $300,000 to area schools in the 20065 season," Ruiz said. "Team sponsors benefit by knowing that they have participated in a very successful program that the NIFL very proudly says is âOur teams are not just shaking hands and kissing babies, we are making differences."
