Rome Renegades News Release

ROME, Ga. - The Rome Renegades would like to announce their membership into the American Indoor Football League (AIFL). The AIFL is in its second year of existence and is headquartered in Canton, Ohio. The NIFL is a great league and the main decision to leave was based on the financial aspect of travel. The Renegades had an extremely successful inaugural season in the NIFL, in which they won the Atlantic Conference Championship. The AIFL was developed as a regional league with teams located from New York to Florida. With more teams around this region it creates an opportunity to develop more rivalries between teams as well as helping ease the cost of team travel. With the membership into the AIFL the Renegades will begin play in February.

AIFL President Andrew Haines stated "Because of our growth and commitment to regional play, Rome makes the perfect fit for us in the Southern Region. We are extremely happy to have them join us. They represent an excellent ownership group and an organization that we look forward to working with."

CEO and co-owner of the Rome Renegades, Harry Pierce, stated "We are very excited about our new venture with the AIFL. We feel that they are a very professional group of owners and look forward to our 2006 season. Having some teams that are close to Rome will offer fans a chance to travel to some of our away games and set up some fun rivalries. The level of play will equal the same as what our fans were fortunate enough to see this past season. Our coaching staff will start their recruiting process ASAP in efforts to put a championship team together like last year".
