Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that Ronan Walsh has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of New Hampshire.
The 6'4 ¬Â³, 210 lb. veteran forward currently has four goals and four assists in 13 games so far this season, good for fifth in team scoring. In two seasons in Aberdeen so far, he's appeared in 57 games, scoring 25 goals and adding 16 assists, good for 41 total points. He also notched four goals and three assists during seven games in the 2022 Robertson Cup playoffs.
Before his time in Aberdeen, Walsh attended the prestigious Proctor Academy from 2016-2020, where he amassed 47 goals and 62 assists.
He's the third Wing to head to UNH, joining Colton Huard and Nico deVita as a Wildcat.
"Ronan is a difference-maker night in, night out," Wings head coach Scott Langer said. "He is known for his ability to score but brings a lot more to the team. He is a physical presence that leads the team in body contacts per game night in and night out, not to mention his mature and valuable leadership in our locker room. Ronan has worked hard in his junior hockey career and has earned every bit of this commitment to a great University like New Hampshire."
"I'm honored to announce my commitment to UNH. It's a hard league and it means a lot to me that they've noticed my work and my effort in the games," Walsh said. "This is only the beginning of more work and this is the next step in my journey."
