
Walleye Sign a Pair of Purple Eagles

Toledo, OH - Defensemen Dan Weiss and CJ Chartrain have agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2013-14 season.
Weiss, a native of Ballwin, Missouri, has spent last four seasons suiting up for the Niagara Purple Eagles. While at Niagara, the 6'2", 185 pound defenseman appeared in 125 games, netting 7 goals and 25 assists to go along with 62 penalty minutes. The 23-year-old was a co-captain this past season and a recipient of the team's CLAW award, given to a player who blocks shots and is very physical.
"These are two young smart hockey players," Head Coach Nick Vitucci said. "Both players are very strong in their own end and they do all the little things well."
Chartain hails from Pointe-Claire, Quebec. In 139 games with the Purple Eagles, he collected 12 goals, 39 assists and 121 penalty minutes. The 23-year-old was named this past season to the Atlantic Hockey Association's All-Academic team along with Weiss.
