Jamestown Jammers News Release
The Jammers extended their winning streak with late heroics on Monday afternoon. The Pilots struck first as Bailey scored (Niagara) on and RBI walk from Phillips. In the bottom half of the 1st, the Jammers tied the game at one when Lamb took home on a Keng steal to second. Keng (UTSA) then came around to score on a Livorsi (St. Louis) single. The pilots then answered back in the second inning as Xavier Warren (Centeral Michigan) doubled in Parker Tadlock (Angelo State U) and Justin Grahm (St. John Fischer) to make it 3-2.
In the fourth Richard Phillips adds to the Newark lead by sending a sacrifice fly to left, which scored Allen Murphy (St. John Fischer) to make 4-2.
The Jammers again answered back in the bottom half of the fourth as Chris Rubottom (Wofford) crossed on and error. 4-3.
The Pilots remained in control until the bottom of the 8th inning, which is when the Pilots walked the bases loaded and walked in two runs, which gave the Jammers a late lead. In the same inning, the Jammers tagged on some insurance by scoring off of a sacrifice fly from Sterling Hayes (Vanderbilt). The Jammers then shut down the pilots in the bottom half of the ninth, but turning a double play to get out of a jam.
