Jammers Crush Newark 20-3

The Jammers came out swinging in their game against the Newark Pilots in a 20-3 blowout.

The Jammers started off the game with hot bats picking up a 4-run-lead in the first with Chase Keng (UTSA) hitting a monster triple scoring 3 runs and was then brought home by a double hit by Rashad Stewart (Winston-Salem). The Newark Pilots got on the board in the top of the second when they filled up the bases and walked home their first run.

Chase Keng hit his second consecutive triple and stole home for the Jammers 5th run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. They grabbed a few more runs with an RBI from Josh Brammell (NC Central) which brought home Rashad Stewart and Sterling Hayes (Vanderbilt). Josh Brammell then took home from a passed ball at the plate. They added another run this inning with a sacrifice fly from Josh Lamb (UTSA) bringing home Chris Rubottom (Wofford).

The Pilots scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning when Parker Tadlock (Angelo State University) found home and Alexander Herman (Nova Southeastern) brought in Matt Cerfolio (Columbia University) with a sacrifice fly.

The Jammers extended their lead even further with a three-run home run from Sterling Hayes. Austin Parent (Pitt-Bradford) later hit in Alex O'Donnell (Mercyhurst). Stewart put Max Silverman on the board and hit in Rane Pfiffer (Cal-State Northridge). Later in the inning Gino Tortoriello (Rowan-Burlington) brought home Rashad Stewart once again.

The Jammers got to 20 runs when Alex O'Donnell brought home Jeremy Hassel (Cal State Northridge) and Sterling Hayes hit in O'Donnell and Ben Livorsi (St Louis) bat in Max Silverman.

Winning Pitcher- Connor Ryan (2 innings, 1 hit, 1 s/o)

Losing Pitcher-Ryan Marketell (3 1/3 innings, 8 runs, 6 hits, 2 s/o)
