GREAT FALLS Mont.--The Voyagers pounded out 14 hits and got another stellar performance out of Blair Walters en route to a 11-2 victory.

Walters (5-0) went five innings, giving up two runs--just one earned in the winning effort. He struck out six batters and did not issue a walk. The win puts him in a tie for the league lead in that category with Ogden's Brandon Martinez.

Qualon Millender led the offensive charge with four hits. The leadoff now how eight hits in his last three games. He also stole three bases, bringing his league-high total to 19.

After giving up the first run of the game in the top of the second, the Voyagers responded with three in the bottom half. With one out, the Voyagers put four straight batters on base, beginning with a Kevan Smith single--his first hit as a Voyager and one of two on the night. Jeffer Patino's single scored Smith to tie the game and then the Voyagers took the lead on a Millender fielder's choice, and added some cushion on a David Herbek RBI single.

The Voyagers got consistent offense throughout the evening, scoring in five of their eight innings at the plate.

After struggling on the road, the bullpen provided four scoreless frames.

Kevin Rath looked great in two innings. He gave up just one hit--an infield single--and struck out two.

While Stew Brase loaded the bases without recording an out, he got the next three batters he faced, which included an inning ending strikeout of Eric Groff, to get out unscathed.

Austin Evans finished the game by delivering a perfect ninth, striking out two.

Suffering the loss for the Osprey was Enrique Burgos (3-3), who lasted just three innings. Burgos went six innings of one-run baseball on July 1 in Missoula against the Voyagers, but gave up seven runs on nine hits tonight.

The win snaps a couple of streaks. The Voyagers end their season long four-game losing streak, while breaking Missoula's season-high seven game winning streak.

Joe De Pinto went 0-for-5 and his 19-game on-base streak came to an end.

With a seventh inning single, Eric Groff extended his hitting streak to 15 games.

The Voyagers and the Osprey continue their series tomorrow night. Jesse Darrah (2-0) goes against Peter Gehle (2-4). First pitch is at 7:00 p.m. with the pregame starting at 6:35 on 560 KMON.
