VooDoo exceed first-year total for season tickets sold
December 7, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New Orleans VooDoo News Release
The New Orleans VooDoo have sold over 5,000 season tickets for the upcoming 2005 season. This number exceeds the total sold by the team for the team's inaugural 2004 season, when the team captured the Southern Division championship and qualified for the playoffs.
The VooDoo will hold its second "Select-A-Seat" event on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the New Orleans Arena from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. VooDoo ticket representatives will greet fans in the main box office lobby of the New Orleans Arena and will show fans available seats. Parking in Lot 4 on the west side of the Arena is free.
"The VooDoo staff, coaches and players would like to thank the fans for their outstanding support of the team," said VooDoo Executive Director Mike Feder "They have given us and will continue to give our team an outstanding home team advantage."
"We have a realistic goal of having one of the highest season ticket bases in the Arena Football League. This achievement is even more impressive knowing that we have more than two months, prior to the start of the regular season to achieve this goal."
Feder attributes the increase in season ticket sales to a number of factors:
· The non-stop, close to the field action of the arena football game.
· Reasonable eight-game season ticket prices starting as low as $96...great for the entire family.
· The club has an exciting on-field product and has made several roster improvements this past off-season in an effort to top the team's 11-5 inaugural season record a year ago.
The New Orleans VooDoo place an emphasis on having a Fun Gameday Experience and unprecedented commitment to their fans. Following games, fans are encouraged to come down onto the field and get autographs from VooDoo players and coaches. The AFL even has a Fan's Bill of Rights, detailing their appreciation for the fans.
The 2004 Southern Division champion New Orleans VooDoo home opener is Sunday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m., when they host the 2004 AFL champion San Jose SaberCats. The regular-season home schedule includes games against: San Jose, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Georgia, Columbus, Colorado and Austin. Season ticket plans begin for as low as $96 per seat. There are numerous seating options available in all price ranges.
