VooDoo acquire WR/LB Tremaine Neal, make roster moves

As the New Orleans VooDoo's January 29 season opener at Georgia approaches, the team has trimmed its 2005 training camp roster and also re-acquired a key player from the team's 2004 Southern Division champion squad.

The team has announced that it has acquired WR/LB Tremaine Neal from the Philadelphia Soul for a future consideration, which is VooDoo DS Richard Newsome. The team also waived WR/DB B.J. Barre, OL/DL Jason Gamble, WR/LB Preston Hartfield and WR/LB Tamarick Vanover.

The VooDoo roster currently is set at 32 players. The team will have to reach the mandated roster limit of 24 by Monday, January 24.

Neal (6-3, 215, Valdosta State) appeared in five regular season games and one postseason contest for the VooDoo in 2004, recording 10 receptions for 85 yards with 12 tackles and one fumble recovery on defense. Neal had signed with Philadelphia this past offseason.

The 2004 Southern Division champion New Orleans VooDoo home opener is Sunday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m., when they host the 2004 AFL champion San Jose SaberCats. The regular-season home schedule includes games against: San Jose, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Georgia, Columbus, Colorado and Austin. Season ticket plans begin for as low as $96 per seat. There are numerous seating options available in all price ranges.
