
Volcanoes Announce 2005 Schedule

The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes will open their ninth season with a five game road trip against the Tri City Dust Devils (Colorado Rockies affiliate). The season opener in Tri City will be on Tuesday, June 21. The Volcanoes will play their first home game in 2005 on Sunday, June 26, when the club opens a five game series versus the Yakima Bears (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate). The Volcanoes will play a 76 game schedule in 79 days with 38 home and 38 away games.
Once again, the Volcanoes have an extremely attractive home schedule. As was the case in 2004, Salem-Keizer will be home on the Fourth of July (vs. Tri City). The home schedule features 17 of 38 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. All homestands will be either 3 or 5 games in length except a 6-game homestand against Everett and Vancouver (7/21 - 7/26). The regular season closes, also on the road, on Wednesday, September 7, in Vancouver versus the Canadians.
Game times are unchanged. Monday through Thursday games begin at 6:35. Friday-Saturday games start at 7:05 and Sunday contests will continue at 5:05.

After drawing their 1 millionth fan in 2004, the Volcanoes rank among the national leaders in attendance for Class A Short Season franchises. Over 40,000 tickets have already been sold for the 2005 season! After winning the Northwest League Championship in 1998 and 2001, and the League's Western Division Title in 2003, the team ended their 2004 season in 3rd place, 5 games behind first place Vancouver.
Volcanoes' season tickets and mini ticket plans for the 2005 season are now on sale. Season Tickets in the Stadium's popular box seating section are $380 for the season, the Stadium's upper box seats are $342 and Reserved Season Tickets $304. Ticket packages featuring 19-Game Plans are $152, 10-Game Plan $80, and a 5-Game Plan $40. The ticket packages plus the popular Volcanoes merchandise are currently on sale at the Volcanoes Stadium Pro Shop, or they may be obtained by calling the team at (503) 390-2225 ext. 3007.

Volcanoes Home Runs Contribute $4,600 to Charity
Keizer, OR -- Marquis Spas and Your Back Yard teamed up with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes during the 2004 season to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. For each Home Run the Volcanoes hit Marquis Spas / Your Back Yard generously contributed $100 to Make A Wish. Thanks to a powerful offense the Volcanoes slammed 46 homers during the season, amounting to a total donation of $4,600.
"We are extremely pleased to have been able to team up with Marquis Spas and Your Back Yard once again to benefit a great cause," said Volcanoes President Jerry Walker. "Marquis Spas and Your Back Yard continues to shine as a great community partner for the Salem-Keizer area and we are proud to be affiliated with them."
2004 marked the 3rd consecutive season that the Volcanoes, Marquis Spas and Your Back Yard have teamed up to benefit Make A Wish. A total of $12,300 has been contributed to Make A Wish by Marquis Spas and Your Back Yard for Home Runs hit by the Volcanoes during that time.
