Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are pleased to announce that VisitPITTSBURGH will be the presenting sponsor for the special pre-season exhibition game on Tuesday, April 1 at Classic Park when the Captains host the AA Akron RubberDucks in a seven-inning contest that will start at 5:00 PM.
VisitPITTSBURGH has been a partner of both the Captains and the RubberDucks, making this opportunity a natural fit for all parties.
The winning team will take home a special trophy courtesy of VisitPITTSBUGH and VisitPITTSBURGH will receive branding across several platforms that will promote the contest throughout Northeast Ohio.
"We trust that this will be the start of a fun tradition with Akron for our respective fan bases and we are very appreciative of VisitPITTSBUGH for wanting to be a part of it", said Captains Vice President and General Manager Brad Seymour.
The game will mark the first time since 2007 that the organizations will meet in a pre-season affair and provides the opportunity for Captains fans to see several former Lake County players who have advanced through the Indians Farm System. In addition, fans will have the chance to see former Captains manager David Wallace guide the RubberDucks while Jeff Harris will once again be Wallace's pitching coach as he was in 2012 with the Captains.
Exhibition game tickets will be $6 for the general public and will be available for purchase in-person at the Classic Park Box Office, via phone at 440.954.WINS or on-line at www.CaptainsBaseball.com beginning on March 15 when Captains individual game tickets go on sale.
