Diamondbacks Welcome Two New Coaches to South Bend Silver Hawks Staff

South Bend, Indiana (March 19, 2014)- Due to recent changes in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization two new coaches are being welcomed to the 2014 Minor League coaching staff for your 2013 Eastern Division Champs, South Bend Silver Hawks.

The two new additions to the Silver Hawks staff are David Lasnier, Strength Coach and Jonathan Mathews, Hitting Coach. Lasnier specializes in comprehensive athletic development and injury prevention. He has experience working with a wide range of athletes from the high school through professional levels. He is dedicated to bringing athletes to the next level by improving their strength, speed and most of all, reducing their sport-specific injury risk. Mathews was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1990 MLB June Amateur Draft from Centerville HS, Centerville, IA and by the Colorado Rockies in the 42nd MLB June Amateur Draft from University of New Orleans. Mathews was hitting coach at short-season Single-A Aberdeen during the 2013 season.

The South Bend Silver Hawks are a Class A minor league team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team is owned and operated by Swing-Batter-Swing, LLC whose sole shareholder is Andrew T.
