
Visalia Tops Stockton to Tie the Series

Visalia, CA - Rawhide had a five-run sixth inning to tie up the three-game series against the Ports. Stockton scored first in the top of the first inning. Rawhide starting pitcher, Jeff Bain, gave up three consecutive base hits to begin the game. With bases loaded and one out, Trace Loehr drew the walk to push across the first run.
The Ports extended their lead in the third inning when Jameson Hannah and Alfonso Rivas hit RBI doubles to make the score 3-0. The Rawhide did not answer back until the fifth inning. Alex King hit an RBI double to score Tim Susnara to kick-start the scoring for the Rawhide. L.T. Tolbert batted King in on sacrifice fly to right field to make the score 3-2 Ports leading the Rawhide.
Jonah Bride gave the Ports an insurance run when he hit an RBI singled in the top of the sixth. The Rawhide answered back with a five-run inning in the bottom of the sixth. Jake McCarthy doubled on a line drive to right field after Camden Duzenack drew a lead-off walk. Anfernee Grier had an RBI single to tie up the game. With one out and a Grier on second, Susnara homered to give Visalia their first lead of the series. Tolbert drove in the final Rawhide run of the game when he hit a sacrifice fly to center field to make the score 7-4.
The Ports did push across another run in the seventh inning when Luis Castillo took the mound, but the Rawhide won 7-5. Jayson McKinley earned his second win of the season. He gave up one run off two hits in two innings. Castillo pitched the seventh and the eighth and only gave up one run. Breckin Williams earned his seventh save of the season after retiring all three Stockton batters he faced.
Ports' pitcher Jared Poche received his sixth loss of the season after giving up all seven Rawhide runs in two and one-third innings.
