Vipers WR Shipp Named AFL's Offensive POW
April 20, 2010 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Alabama Vipers News Release
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Alabama Vipers wide receiver Larry Shipp's performance during last Saturday's 63-54 victory at Utah didn't go unnoticed by the Arena Football League.
Shipp's eight catches for 199 yards and four touchdowns have earned him the AFL's Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week award.
A former Tennessee Tech standout, Shipp (5-foot-9, 188 pounds) accounted for almost half of Alabama's offensive and snagged all but one of the five touchdown passes thrown by quarterback Kevin Eakin.
The Vipers improved to 2-1 on the young AFL season and will enjoy a bye this weekend before hosting the Milwaukee Iron on May 1 at the Von Braun Center.
