September 29, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release
MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that, for the second year in a row, they will have the 12th pick out of 16 in the 2009 NBA Development League Draft next month.
The draft order was determined in a lottery today.
The Vipers picked fifth in the 2007 draft, selecting C.J. Watson, who received a GATORADE Call-Up during the season and currently plays for the Golden State Warriors.
The NBA D-League Draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order will alternate in each of the ten rounds. For example, the team picking last in the first round will select first in the second round, giving them the 16th and 17th overall choices.
