HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Tennessee Valley Vipers head coach, Chris Williams, announced today that the team has been assigned Carlos McNeary, Jermaine Blakely and Terrence Jefferson by the af2 office.

He has rushed 21 times for 44 yards and four touchdowns and caught 143 passes for 2,248 yards and 52 touchdowns. He has returned 10 missed field goals for 137 yards and 64 kickoffs for 1,190 yards and four touchdowns. He has recorded 50.5 tackles, five interceptions, 18 pass break ups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble on defense.

Blakely (6-4, 325, TE/DE) played for Williams last season in Odessa after spending time with the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League. He recorded 34 tackles, 11 sacks and one interception that he returned for a touchdown. He played college football at Stillman College.

Jefferson (5-7, 170, WR/DB) played in six games for Odessa last season. He finished with 20 receptions for 320 yards and six touchdowns and had five touchdowns on kick returns. He had two interceptions on defense and returned one for a touchdown. He has one game where he scored eight touchdowns, three rushing, two on kick returns and three receiving. He played college football at Midwestern State.

"Carlos is an explosive athlete that has the ability to make big plays in this league," Williams said. "Jermaine is a legitimate AFL prospect as an OL/DL. Things did not work out for him in Austin for one reason or another. Playing in Tennessee Valley will give him the stage to try and impress coaches in the AFL. Jefferson is a natural athlete with a lot of upside. A full season in the AF2 will give him the polish that he needs to reach the next level."

The Vipers will host an open tryout on Saturday, December 17th in the Von Braun Center South Hall. Registration is $25.00 and will begin at 9:00. Contact the front office at (256) 518-6160 for more information.
