Spokane Shock News Release

SPOKANE, WA (December 6, 2005) - The Spokane Shock announced today that they have added Brandon Moore, a former EWU Eagle, and Corey Taylor to their roster for the inaugural 2006 season.

Moore, 6-1 260 lineman, most recently played in the CFL for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2003. While at Eastern, Moore compiled 15 ½ sacks, the 11th best total in school history. As a senior at Medical Lake High School, he was named one of the top 100 recruits in the State of Washington by the Seattle Times.

"He is a young talent that has the potential to make his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball," Head Coach Chris Siegfried said. "We expect him to spend most of his time hitting the opposing team's Quarterback," Siegfried added.

Moore is optimistic about his homecoming in the Shock's inaugural season. "I'm definitely excited; I think it's gonna be big - this is gonna be one of the biggest things to come to Spokane," Moore said.

Corey Taylor, a Coeur'd Alene ID resident, was also added to the roster and will bring his veteran leadership to the squad. While in college, Taylor started his career at the University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Head Coach Skip Holtz - son of former Notre Dame Coach Lou Holtz. He then transferred to play in his home state of Kentucky at Georgetown College.

Most recently Taylor played for the Odessa Roughnecks of the Intense Football League. Taylor is also a veteran of NFL Europe, the AFL, and af2. Taylor will be counted on for his leadership and play making ability. Taylor will serve as a duel threat offensively as a Fullback and defensively as a Linebacker.

"Taylor brings veteran experience that will be an invaluable quality to our team," Siegfried said. "We expect him to have an enormous impact at the Fullback/Linebacker positions."

"I'm really excited to play in Spokane," Taylor said. "I know that Coach (Siegfried) wants to win right away and so do I."

Taylor and Moore will be two of 37 players invited to mini-camp that will begin in March.

The Spokane Shock will open their 2006 inaugural season on March 30th at the Spokane Arena as they host the Stockton Lightening. Tickets are available by contacting the Spokane Shock at 509 242 7465 or online at www.spokaneshock.com.
